Are you between 18 and 30 years old? Are you available from the 12th of July to the 18th of August? Are you interested in the world of ecovillages, living more sustainably and in community?
If you meet these three requirements, don’t hesitate: Help us prepare the annual meeting of the Iberian Network of Ecovillages!
This 2024 Arterra Bizimodu will have the pleasure of hosting the RIE summer meeting. About 200 people and representatives of various ecovillages on the peninsula are expected to attend. The mission of volunteers will be to participate in the preparations for the event, helping us with their energy and time to make the meeting possible.
This volunteering opportunity is open to young people between 18 and 30 years old whose countries are members of the European Union. When?
The start of volunteering will be on the 12th of July and will end on the 18th of August, with the possibility of arriving in Arterra one day before and leaving one day later. In this way we ensure the reimbursement of transportation costs.
Where?
We live in Arterra Bizimodu, an eco-sustainable project with 10 years of experience in community life. The conditions we offer are simple, with a focus on a low ecological footprint. You can expect shared accommodation and common facilities. The natural environment is wonderful, in the heart of the Urraúl Bajo valley, with the possibility of doing multiple outdoor sports.
What does it consist of?
We offer accommodation and food in exchange for 30 hours of work per week.
The activities that volunteers will carry out include:
– Construction of outdoor spaces (dry latrines, outdoor showers, etc.)
– Setting up the different areas for the meeting (cleaning, painting, decorating, etc.)
– Cover kitchen and cleaning shifts before and during the RIE meeting
– Participate in other activities and meetings organized by the community
